EnGenius ENH Series WDS bridging Setup



This scenario will explain how to configure a Point to Point transparent WDS bridge using EnGenius ENH series Access Points. This guide uses the ENH200 and ENH200EXT Access Points however the configuration will be the same for all other ENH models (ENH202, ENH210, ENH210EXT and ENH500).


Step 1:
Set the Operation Mode of the main Access Point to "WDS Access Point":

Step 2:
Configure the IP Settings for the WDS Access Point. The IP Address should be a unique IP Address on your network that is not currently used. The Default Gateway and Primary DNS should be the IP Address of your Internet Modem / Router.

Step 3:
Configure Wireless Settings. Select "Edit" on the first SSID and configure "SSID" (Wireless Network Name), Select "WPA2-PSK" for the Security Mode with "AES" as the Encryption Type. Finally enter a wireless password of your choice in the "Passphrase" field.

Step 4:
Select "Save/Reload" and Save & Apply Settings.


Step 5:
Configure the Remote Access Point's Operation Mode to "WDS Station":

Step 6:
Configure the IP Settings for the WDS Station. The IP Address should be a unique IP Address on your network that is not currently used. The Default Gateway and Primary DNS should be the IP Address of your Internet Modem / Router.

Step 7: 
Connect to the main WDS Access Point by selecting "Site Survey" and selecting the BSSID of the WDS Access Point in the Site Survey List. This will configure your security settings automatically leaving you to enter your security key:

Step 8:
Select "Save/Reload" and Save & Apply Settings.


Verifying your WDS Bridge is connected and ready to use:

On the WDS Access Point ensure the WDS Station is in the "Wireless Client List".

On the WDS Station ensure the "Connection Status" is "Associated".


Optional:
Point to Multipoint Configuration:
If you wish to add any extra clients repeat steps 5 - 8 for each additional client.
