Testing the maximum MTU size between Networks
To test the max MTU size you can use across your network start at a higher frame size and work your way down. It also pays to note you will need to add 28 bytes to calculate your max MTU packet size.
i.e. ping -l size -f ip_address
In the output below our maximum MTU packet size is 1452 + 28 bytes = 1480.
Good on ya Daniel,
ReplyDeleteBeen doing some major MTU shenanigans with my CCR. You can also use your Mikoritk,
Tools Ping set DST IP
Then under Advanced set the packet size and tick Don't Fragment. Good thing about the MT is you can choose which interface to launch it out of.
P.S.> I must of really wanted to comment, it took like 6 goes to get Google to let me in.
